Some of New Zealand's best U16 rugby league talent will be on display at Mount Smart Stadium this Saturday when the Auckland Vulcans and Future Warriors meet as the curtain-raiser to that evening's NRL match.
The game is the first of its type to be held at U16 level, with the Vulcans drawing on the best talent from within the Auckland region and the Future Warriors being made up of players from around the country.
It follows on from the Auckland Vulcans U15 side winning the national title in Rotorua last year, with dummy-half Stanley Iongi – who will take the field for the U16s this weekend as well – being judged the tournament MVP in the grade.
The match kicks off at 5.30pm, with the Vodafone Warriors v North Queensland Cowboys NRL match to follow at 7.30pm.
